LONDON Mini-Marathon 2017 S-W story

Ashia Wilson (u13G), Josh Smith (u13B) and Ben Lewis (u17M) competed for South-West teams in the British Junior 3 miles Road Race Championships which were part of the London Mini-Marathon on Sunday, April 23. The course followed the last section of the main Marathon course and was run in advance of the main event, all finishing 200m from Buckingham Palace on The Mall. All finishers received a medal.

In the overall girls’ Team Championships, S-W placed 5th/11 in u13G, 10th/12 in u15G and a brilliant 3rd/12 in the u17W.

In boys’ events, they placed 7th/11 in u13, 6th/12 in u15, and 10th/12 in u17.

For the record, PAC member Ashia placed 46/65, Josh 41/63, and Ben 57/69 in this high-powered international event; but the fantastic experience, crowds and setting were much more important for those who ran through the streets!
