Many new bests at BMC PB Classic May 5

A number of PAC athletes ran in the annual BMC “PB Classic” staged at Millfield School, Street, on Saturday May 5th.  (In previous years this has been held on the early May Bank Holiday Monday.)  Being a BMC event, the only graded races offered are at 800, 1500 and 3000.  Timing is electronic.

Please note that these three times are also new Club Records!

Tom Austin features in Birmingham!

In the Simply Health Great Birmingham 10K held on Sunday, May 6th, PAC SM Tom Austin finished 6th in 31-17.  This was a mixed gender race with 1500 finishers!

Mixed results at hot, first SWAL Match!

In the first South-West League match staged at the Exeter Arena on Sunday, May 6th, we enjoyed hot, dry sunshine with almost no wind, except when a ‘dust devil’ sucked a tent and put clothes in the trees!  A poor participation from some age-groups was disappointing and had a serious effect on team results. This is a League where we won three times in four years, but last year – after a weak start – we were back in 4th of the 11 teams, then combined in one division.  This year that division is of 12 teams, meaning four harder matches!
