Melissa helps GB to silvers at Euro Cross 2018!

In the Spar-sponsored 11th European Cross-Country Championships staged at Tilburg, Netherlands, on December 9th, the GB SW team packed brilliantly in 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10th (of the 69 finishers) in the 8300m multi-lap race on an undulating course of natural and artificial challenges. Dry on the day, but muddy underfoot, the course and opposition were challenging. With three to count, GB totalled 24 points, Melissa finishing 8th in 26-59.  (Winner in 26-05.)   The hosts packed a little better with 4th, 5th and 11th totalling 20. The other two GB runners finished 15th and 20th.

And so Melissa caps her year with another international medal! Brilliant!

Final Wessex Cross-Country plus COUNTY!

We look forward to next Sunday, December 16th on the hills of the huge grounds of Bryanston School (Blandford Forum) and the fourth and final match of the Wessex League. Note that it is now too late to register for either the League races or the simultaneous County races.  If you have competed in any of the previous three events, please remember to bring your competition NUMBER and 4 PINS!

Sportshall training continues on Saturdays

We still have SIXTEEN of the 49 certificates earned by our podium placers in the County Sportshall Championships.  These were available today at Ashdown and will also be taken to the next Sportshall session at Ashdown on Saturday December 15th.  Please bring a suitable file or bag.  We are in discussion about training sessions on December 22 and 29.  In January, starting on January 5th, we re-commence training for the last match on January 27.

Found Property!

Periodically we have had to advertise an amount of property left behind by tired (and forgetful!) athletes! Just inside the “social area” of the HQ is a clothes stand. Next time you are at the track, please check to see if you recognise any of the items thereon. If you do, PLEASE TAKE IT HOME and PUT A NAME-TAG ON IT!
