British winner and Regional Medals!
In the Vitality Westminster Mile run on May 27, Melissa Courtney added to her tally of titles with British SW victory in 4-35. She beat 18 other invited top athletes as she builds towards what is possibly her next target: the European Championships 2018, the first part of which will be staged during the second week of August in Berlin. Other events will be held in Glasgow later.
In the South of England Championships held at Bedford last weekend, Jed Skilton placed second in a tactical u20M 800 in 1-59.73. In the same meeting, Jamie Grose won the silver medal in the SM3000 Steeplechase in 9-37.72, showing his steady improvement in this knackering discipline!
Those performances were on Saturday. In the parallel Northern meeting in SportCity, Manchester, on Sunday, Jack – the son of HJ coach Mark Roach – was not quite at his best in achieving the bronze with a best SM LJ of 7.14m.
Ten Dorset Schools’ Champions in 2018!
In the 2018 County Schools’ meeting held at King’s Park on June 9th, mild conditions and a raucous crowd helped many athletes to good performances. Ten PAC athletes became champions in 11 events. There were 18 PBs and William Rabjohns set a CBP in the Yr.7B 1500.
