PAC News 2017 No. 33 05/09/17

SWAL 4 at a very wet Exeter Sept 3rd

The best team we could field and who were available travelled to Exeter last Sunday with the hope and expectation of doing the best we could on the day and then seeing how the match and the final rankings worked out.

Thanks are due to all the athletes, parents, coaches and officials from the club who sustained their interest and support on a very demanding day weather-wise, especially during the worst of the unrelenting rain.

Thanks particularly to those athletes who were promoted to compete in an older age-group in order to obtain key points.

Provisional results have been sent to us and these will be published when confirmed. They will also be on Power of 10 in due course.

How this League develops/changes in 2018 will be debated at their AGM at the end of this month. This will include a decision about whether or not it will continue in the form of just one large division.

The Team Dorset commitments in 2018?

In 2017, Team Dorset (i.e. Dorchester, Poole and Wimborne forming a composite team) contested the UKYDL (Youth Development League) LAG (Lower age-group for u13s and u15s) and UAG (Upper age-group for u17s and u20s). Also the Southern Athletics League (for u17s upwards). A renewal of this team has to be submitted to UKA by the end of this month for 2018. A decision on this major commitment will be made soon.

REMINDER: Part 2 of our Champs will be held on Saturday, Sept. 16 starting at 10.00 am. Please ensure you enter soon so that the event schedule can be suitably planned. Help on the day would be much appreciated – for setting up, with events, and clearing.

MOVING INDOORS:

Please remember that, starting on September 23rd, our normal Saturday session will move indoors to the Leisure Centre Sports Hall with registration from about 4.15 pm. This continues to March.
