A great night at Wallisdown Liberal Club!

It was excellent to see the Liberal Club gradually fill up so that we had to have more chairs brought in! Thanks to all those who came and, although it was typically noisy, some conversations were possible. The food was mostly consumed, the 44 awards – even when the planned recipients were, for various reasons, unable to attend – were enthusiastically applauded, the twenty raffle prizes were enjoyed, and the disco became almost a line-dancing expression at one point!  We were delighted to have Evan and Liz as our guests, with Liz doing most of the presentations, and grateful to Matthew Cornes for his imitations of a 21st century “David Bailey” (famous royal photographer!) and of a rhythmic break-dancer!  (Apologies to the very young!)

For the benefit and encouragement of those award-winners who had to miss the evening, a complete list can be found here>>>. Their awards will be held in the HQ until collection can be arranged.

Heidi in Cardiff

Our latest member to compete indoors this season was Heidi Taylor last weekend.  She raced as an u17W in Race 4 of the Open 300m at the Cardiff Met. Christmas Classic, winning in 43.83, about 0.5 outside her best.   Nevertheless a good early-season effort indoors!
