Storm Darragh caused a lot of disruption and most of the local parkruns were cancelled. Further afield though, there were some stunning performances from PAC athletes:
Sharon Colyear-Danvile Season Opener, Boston University, Masachusetts, USA (7th December)
Edward Bird was ranked 22nd across two 3,000m heats in the indoor event. He actually placed 10th in heat 2. He scored a personal best by nearly seven seconds with 7:53.14, compared to his 7:59.99 back in January. This time leads the UK under-20 men’s rankings for 2024 with only four weeks to go. It also takes Ed to third on the British all-time 3,000m list behind Jon Richards and Steve Binns. It is the fastest ever British under-20 time indoors.
European Cross-Country Championships, Antalya, Turkey (8th December)
William Rabjohns did himself proud with 22nd place in a tightly packed under-20 men’s race. He clocked 14:30 for 4.5km, finishing just 23 seconds behind the winner. He was the third counter for Team GB.
