Lymington Woodside parkrun, (8th March)

It’s only March, but we have already reached the 4th event in the Senior Multi Terrain champs – this time it was a trip to Lymington to run the 5k parkrun. There were 6 PBs, and four members were trying this event for the first time. Well done team Poole AC!

Inter-Counties Cross-Country Championships, Wollaton Park, Nottingham (8th March)

William Rabjohns gained a silver medal as 14 of our athletes represented Dorset in the Inter-Counties races. Poole AC provided the first Dorset finisher in seven races.

Birmingham University Winter Throws and Distance Meeting, Birmingham University (8th March)

Mark Ruby was our first athlete to race in the new outdoor track season with a personal best by six seconds over 5,000m.

European Indoor Athletics Championships at Apeldoorn, Netherlands (9th March)

Melissa Courtney-Bryant was making her third appearance at these championships, and looking to improve on her bronze medals at Glasgow 2019 and Instanbul 2023. She missed out on the 3,000m gold medal to Sarah Healy (Ireland) by six one hundredths of a second.
