It was a busy weekend for our cross country athletes.

Hampshire Cross Country, Aldershot (9th November)

Cardiff Cross Challenge, Llandaff Fields, Cardiff (9th November)

William Rabjohns won the under-20s in the same time as under-17 winner Matthew Clark (Preston Harriers). Mark Ruby, third overall, and second under-20, was just one second behind, but judged ahead of another England junior international Quinn Miell-Ingram (Radley AC), who was again given the same time.

Emily Parker was 16th and Benedict Westhenry 52nd in senior races which featured plenty of international athletes. Darcie Collins finished third in the under-11 girls’ race.

  • Senior Men (9.6km): 52 Benedict Westhenry 31:38
  • Under-20 Men (5560m): 1 William Rabjohns 16:12, 2 Mark Ruby 16:13
  • Under-17 Men (5560m): 11 Charlie Collins 17:02, 43 Joseph Usher 18:19 (They were 30th and 88th respectively in the combined U17 and U20 race behind Will and Mark.)
  • Under-15 Boys (3.2km): 21 Max Collins 10:59
  • Senior Women (6.4km): 16 Emily Parker 21:11
  • Under-17 Women (4450m): 17 Matilda Bengtsson 16:29 (34th in combined U17 and U20 race)
  • Under-11 Girls: 3 Darcie Collins 5:58
  • Men’s University Race (9.6km): 14 Felix Dennison 32:50, 33 Felix Wright 36:35 (Both our athletes were running for Bristol University.)

English Schools’ AA Cross-Country Cup – South-West Regional Final, Taunton Racecourse (9th November)

Several of our athletes were running for their schools, which had qualified through the Dorset heat into the regional final.

  • Intermediate Boys (4.25km): 6 Theo Cobley (Bournemouth Collegiate) 18:59 (Collegiate finished fourth team.)
  • Intermediate Girls (3268m): 55 Jessica Moors (Parkstone Grammar School) 19:59, 58 Izzy Garavini (Parkstone Grammar School) 20:20
  • Junior Girls (2450m): 5 Abigail Moors (Parkstone Grammar School) 8:23 (Parkstone finished fifth team.
