Diamond League Final, Brussels (14th September)

Melissa Courtney-Bryant completed her disrupted track season with ninth place in the Diamond League 1,500m final in a time of 3:59.75. This was Melissa’s second successive sub-four-minute clocking for the distance and achieved the qualifying time for next year’s World Championships in Tokyo.

English National Cross-Country Championships, Weston Park, Shropshire and Staffordshire (14th September)

Just eight of our athletes took part in this event, which had been rearranged from February when it was flooded out. All three seniors made excellent Poole AC debuts. Mark Ruby finished 4th in his race, just six seconds away from a medal.

Friday Night Under the Lights 5km, Battersea (13th September)

Fred Harris took eleven seconds off his road 5km best, which he set in the same race a year ago. He finished in 15:10.
