Poole AC Middle Distance Coaches use ‘The Cooper Test’ in order to assess their athletes level of Cardiovascular Fitness at any given time. This is for the benefit of gauging how athletes deliver oxygen to their muscles in order to maintain the optimum level of pace over a sustained period of running.
This VO2 Max Test is ideally run on a 400 Metre athletic track, however due to current restrictions, athletes have been invited to take up the challenge of delivering a ‘Virtual 12 Minute Distance Test’ on a course of their choice. The tests were run between 10th February to 23rd February and the recorded performances are below.
