Millie and Ashia variously lead the way!
Last Friday, in the indoor Meeting Feminin du Val d’Oise in Paris, Melissa Courtney continued her preparation for the Commonwealth Games by winning a prestigious W3000m in 8-57.33, just over 2 seconds outside her indoor PB. In so doing she beat a number of outstanding European athletes, not many of whom will feature on Gold Coast in April, but she is evidently maintaining a winning process.
On Saturday (February 10), in the cold rain and mud on a testing course in the Wellesley Woodlands in Aldershot, Ashia Wilson finished 5th in the u15G race and consolidated her aggregate ranking of 4th (out of 35 girls) for the season. This the best by a PAC athlete or team in the Hants XC League this season. See results here>>
The only other aggregate rankings in which PAC athletes feature are: George Mahon ranked 16th (out of 45) in the u13B; the Senior Men who finished overall 8th (out of 10) in Division 1 and thus avoided relegation; and the Veteran Men who finished 6th out of 17 teams, not quite as good a result as last year when they finished 2nd in Division 1.
All athletes, parents, coaches and Team Managers are thanked for their commitment and efforts during the 2017-18 season.
