Wessex Match 4 staged at Ashdown
On Sunday, July 16, WAC hosted the final WYAL match at Ashdown, ably assisted by Poole AC. The dry, mild day attracted 600 people who were entertained by keen competitions at a high standard. Enthusiastic support from noisy spectators created a great and competitive atmosphere. As a result we had excellent Quadkids events, a number of Club Records being set; plus Will R again breaking his u13B 1500. (Full confirmed results in News 29 next week.)
Team Dorset 2nd. in SAL4 at Salisbury
Again helped by under-17 performances, Team Dorset finished second on July 8th. With one match to come, at Guildford on Aug. 19th, this team of u17s – Seniors stays 4th in the rankings, level on League points with 3rd. Any of four could still top this 16-club Div. 3SW â a huge improvement on recent years for this TD team.

A huge number of PBs shows that the attitude by all competitors was positive. Featured were the three Club Records with the u11B Howler and total for Connor G, and the u11G Howler for Faye B.
We look forward to the next Quadkids competition at the Ashdown Open on July 28.
UKYDL LAG Match 4 at Guildford on July 15.
We thank all the athletes and their parents who helped Team Dorset to contest this match. With only one u13G (Leah W) present, and thus one quarter of the overall team missing, Team Dorset will have finished 6th again and are likely to be relegated for 2018. Those who went achieved 14 PBs, two of those being for u13B Louis B who again did a 100/200 double. It is just unfortunate that being in five Leagues will sometimes result in such weekend clashes.
