South-West Schools’ Cross-Country Championships, RNAS Merryfield

Congratulations to all our athletes who represented Dorset Schools. William Rabjohns retained his senior boys’ title. Charlie Collins was fifth in the intermediate boys. Erin Wells just made the top ten in the senior girls. Polly Evans and Jemima Chetwood, both at an age disadvantage, made the first dozen in their events. Our athletes helped Dorset Schools to second place in four of the eight races.

New Balance Indoor Grand Prix, Boston, USA

Melissa Courtney-Bryant opened Olympic year with a new 3,000m personal best of 8:37.74 indoors in Boston, an improvement of almost half a second from her previous best set in 2019. She was some three seconds faster than in the same meeting one year ago. Such was the star-studded field that she paced seventh.
