Stanford International Men’s 5000m
Ed Bird’s 13:51.24 smashed another Club Record in California, on the evening of the 29th March, with a PB over 5000m – his unbeaten run this season continues! Ed’s 61.20s for the final 400m was his best, and second fastest 400m split overall. His win in a time of 13:51.24 was a 16 second personal best, also inside the qualification time of 13:55 required for selection for the World Junior Championships in August.
Ed’s time is equal 12th on the All Time list for 5000m for UK under 20s.
Yeovil Spring Open
A small contingent of Poole Athletic Club athletes travelled to Somerset on Easter Saturday and delivered some excellent performances.

Chianti Ultra Trail Marathon
Club and county cross country runner Alan Metcalfe took on the huge challenge of this 43km Trail Race which included 1650 metres of elevation. He completed the distance in 4:02.51 for 78th overall and (13th in 35-39 Year Age Category)
Poole AC Para Equipment Fund Raiser With Steve Bernard Foundation
Raffle tickets will be on sale at the John Gregory Memorial Track and Field Open Meeting on the 6th of April and half of sales are going to the Poole AC para group to help fund equipment. Prize draw to be made 31st May.
