What a fantastic event to celebrate the life of Roy Carr and his massive contribution to Poole AC. Fortuitously, after heavy rain all day, it actually stopped raining just before the run started and held off until just after the finish. Forty-one runners took part on this popular course, and chatting in the car park afterwards (in the dark!) it was clear how much they enjoyed the event. It was a fitting tribute to Roy.
Thanks to Mike Cure for the organisation, Jonathan Addison for working out the handicaps, and all those who helped by timekeeping or marshalling round the course. And a very special thanks to Roy’s widow Val and other family members who came down to support the event. Val is pictured above handing out the trophy to Pat Bradshaw who was the first Poole AC club member to cross the line.
