Another Welsh Record for Millie
Poole AC’s Melissa Courtney-Bryant took part in the Ladies mile race at the Diamond League meeting in Monaco where the winner Faith Kipyegon of Kenya broke the world women’s one mile record by almost five seconds.
Millie ran a superb 4:16.38, 1.14 seconds behind Laura Muir, who claimed the new British record with 4:15.24. Millie goes second on the UK all-time list and achieved her second Welsh record in a week.
Southern Athletics League at Andover (9 July)
Poole AC athletes helped Team Dorset to edge second place on the day from the host club. The squad are also second overall after three of the four matches, two points behind Swindon Harriers. The final match is on 19th August at Plymouth.
